CEST has brought together under a common umbrella nearly 20 faculty as senior investigators and research associates representing 10 engineering and science disciplines.
The externally sponsored programs at CEST continue to grow, during the 2002-2005 period CEST faculty obtained over eight million dollars in research funding from federal and state agencies and private industry.
CEST has become a leading center in technology transfer. CEST faculty have obtained six patents and applications for many more patents have been filed.
CEST faculty published 72 articles and presented 178 papers at national and international conferences.
During the three year period CEST has supported 43 graduate students per year through graduate research assistantships.
A number of CEST faculty have received commendations for excellence in teaching.
These accomplishments reflect on dedication and hard work of senior investigators and research associates collectively. CEST faculty will continue to focus on multidisciplinary research and education to meet its ambitious mission and goals. There are programs of considerable strength in the structure of CEST that can provide the momentum necessary to reach the top, and, of course, there are weaknesses that serve as barriers in achieving success.
